Fabulous Friday

I just recently received an email for Jetworthy.  Let me tell you, it’s amazing how many fashion related websites are popping up all over the place!  It seems like I get a new email for one all the time!  I did some research on Jetworthy and thought I would share what I found out with you.  It’s actually a really cool site that you may find useful.

Jetworthy is an online jewelry borrowing service, like Netflix.  It’s a subscription based service with monthly fees that start at $32 per month and go up to $52 per month-the more you pay per month means the more expensive jewelry you get to borrow.

You get one item at a time with unlimited quantities of jewelry that you can borrow.  No late fees and you get free shipping both ways.  All jewelry is sanitized before it’s sent to you.  If the jewelry breaks while you have it due to normal wear and tear, Jetworthy pays for it.  Designers include Kenneth Jay Lane, Gemma Redux and Ben Amun.  Sorry to my international friends-this service is only available in the US.

Here are the pro’s of using a service like this:

  • Great if you don’t have lots of space to store jewelry
  • Perfect if you like to have the latest accessories or like to change your jewelry often
  • Inexpensive way to wear expensive designer jewelry
  • Free shipping is a big plus and you can drop it in any mailbox

Here are the con’s of using this service:

  • If you break it, you pay for it…and I’ve broken lots of jewelry!
  • You have to sign up for a monthly service
  • You can’t keep it if you fall in love with a piece
  • You have to wait for your piece to be shipped back and then a new piece to be shipped to you
  • You might have to deal with pieces going missing in the mail

If you decide to try this service out, let me know how it works for you!  If you have heard about a service like this and want me to research it for you, let me know!  I’ll leave you with some examples of the jewelry you could get through Jetworthy.
