Wardrobe Essentials: Investment Bag

What are the classic items that you can add to your wardrobe that will never go out of style?  What are timeless pieces that add style and class after fashion fades?  That’s right…it’s time to talk about another essential piece you should add to your wardrobe.  The investment bag.

My investment bag.

Some of you may already own a much nicer investment bag than mine.  Some of you may be saving up for an investment bag.  Some of you might not even be thinking about an investment bag.  Investment bags are a little expensive, which is what makes them an investment.  HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean they have to be unaffordable.  I didn’t go to the Prada store and pay the full retail price.  I went to the Prada outlet store and paid half the retail price.  Life’s too short to pay full price!

The wonderful thing about this purse is that I will get tired of it LONG before it actually wears out.  And because it will still look good when I’m done with it, I can sell it and use the money to buy a new investment bag!  There is nothing wrong with buying a $20 purse from a store but more than likely the purse is going to break before you get tired of it and your only option at that point is to throw it in the trash.  With outlet stores popping up all over the place, it’s much easier to buy designer purses at reasonable prices.  If you pay $300 for a purse that you wear for 6 years, you really paid $50 per year for that purse.  If you sell the purse after 6 years, you’ve paid even less.  You can pay $300 for a beautiful designer purse that will stay looking great (if you take care of it) OR you can pay $50 each year for a purse that the straps will break on and the material will start to fray or the zipper breaks.

Here are some less expensive options for investment bags.  Who is your favorite designer for an investment bag????  Let me know!

Coach Poppy Signature Glam-$150

Prada wristlet-$185

Michael Kors Jet Set-$201

Coach Carry All-$269

Michael Kors Satchel-$378
