Houndstooth is going to be big this fall and winter season. I just sold a small houndstooth bag and think I should have kept it! You’ll want to add a vibrant, trendy color to the houndstooth to give it a modern edge. Cobalt blue, oxblood and fuchsia will be big colors this season. Here are some fun houndstooth items you might consider picking up now.

A new futuristic trend popping up in stores is the hologram look. The thing I like about the hologram trend is that there are multiple colors, giving you many options with your existing wardrobe. I haven’t bought anything hologram, yet. I’m going to stand back and see where this goes, first. If you’re excited about this new trend, there are many inexpensive options for you! Be confident in the fact that you are fabulous! Let me know which of these is your favorite!
Transitioning to Fall

I’m already seeing a lot of articles on how to transition to your fall wardrobe. I feel like I was in spring, I blinked and now it’s almost fall! How did that happen! I’m not ready-how about you?
Fall is coming whether I’m ready or not, so let’s talk about some great ways to transition pieces from your spring/summer wardrobe to fall. There’s no need to run out and buy fall pieces when you can make use of items you probably already have in your wardrobe!
1) The sleeveless trench is a great way to transition from spring to fall. Wear it with short sleeves and wedges in the warmer months or long sleeves and boots in the colder months. Low on funds? Take an old trench coat you already own or buy an inexpensive one from the thrift store and cut off the sleeves!
2) Want those pastel pieces you love from spring to carry over into fall? Impossible, you say? Never! Just throw on something in a camel color and it instantly warms up any piece! You could go with a cardigan, blazer, layered sweater, pants, etc. Just imagine this gorgeous blazer over a beautiful pastel pink blouse. Love it!
3) Most of you already have a fur vest since they’ve been such a huge fashion trend for the past few years. Wear this with your floral pieces from spring to give them a fall feel. You can also achieve the same look with a leather jacket or blazer and floral bottom or floral top with a leather skirt.
4) Picture this shirt dress worn unbuttoned over a sleeveless top with some olive skinny jeans and boots. A perfect fall transition look! You could also wear this dress with tights and boots for a trendy fall look.
5) There are a lot of warm places where sandals can still be worn into the fall. Black, brown and navy blue sandals all give more of a fall feel. Add a little metallic touch and the shoe seems even warmer. Fabrics like suede and velvet all give an impression of fall.
